Zaure Mederkhanova, Almaty – a freelance journalist, author of articles on CABAR.asia
The world is constantly changing! And it’s important to regularly acquire new knowledge and improve our skills to stay current and be in demand in our profession.
The School of Analytical Journalism of CABAR.asia organised by the Institute for War & Peace Reporting (IWPR) with its high standards of work and sound approach to the organisation of the training was a good platform for me to acquire new knowledge.
Highly qualified experts from Ukraine, Moldova, Russia and our regional countries shared valuable knowledge with us and taught us to use the tools that, I am sure, will help improve the quality of our news items. Organisers, in turn, provided us with all necessary conditions for comfortable learning and stay in another country. Project supervisors used individual approach to every participant of the school by helping to find our own line.
I’d also like to note that School participants are young, promising and strong journalists selected from the whole Central Asian region. Thanks to the School I met new friends from other countries, communicated with professionals and acquired invaluable experience in terms of development of my professional skills and personal qualities.
