We invite students of journalism faculties of universities in Central Asia to take part in a production workshop on the creation of a series of documentaries.
The aim of the workshop is to create documentaries about the real stories of people in Central Asia and the consequences of their trust in fakes during a pandemic.
Workshop participants will gain new knowledge about fact-checking, the principles of storytelling and learn how to shoot documentaries in tandem with professional mentors and production studios. The very best speakers will help you plunge into the world of scripts and cinema. The experience gained will lead you expensive megapixels to new horizons.
Requirements for participants:
- be a citizen of Central Asian countries;
- be a student of the Faculty of Journalism (or a related specialty);
- Internet access and the ability to connect to online trainings daily for 2-4 hours;
- skill to work in team;
- high motivation
How will it go?
The workshop participants, as part of a group of 3-4 people, have been working for three months on a mini-documentary about the impact of fakes on residents of communities in the regions. The production of the film is supervised by experienced mentors with the participation of a professional film crew and a media expert.
October 5 – 18 – acceptance of applications and selection of participants
October 19 – 20 – consideration of applications, notification of participants about the selection results
October 20 – creation of a common platform for communication (Telegram chat)
October 26 – November 6 – online trainings to improve work on content
November 6 – December 11 – work on the creation of mini-documentaries
December 14 – submission of documentaries
December 18-21 – presentation of films (festival in online or offline format, depending on the epidemiological situation)
