IWPR Central Asia Seeks Expert in Community Analysis and Assessment

One of the main tasks of the IWPR project is the development of the GO Viral community. When starting implementation, IWPR plans to conduct an in-depth analysis and assessment of the baseline state of the community in order to build the right/appropriate work strategies.

To accomplish this task, we are looking for a consultant with experience working with online communities and developing a community baseline document.

Objectives: To conduct a baseline assessment of the Go Viral community and develop a Community Canvas.

Tasks:

  • Identify quantitative indicators for the current time with a breakdown by country, gender and sector
  • Determine if there is a common vision / mission / goal of the community
  • Determine the level of awareness among the participants of the vision / mission / goal of the community
  • Identify the main motivation of the participants in the community
  • Determine the level of involvement and interaction between participants in the community (exchange of information, joint decision-making or action)
  • Identify the main core of active / involved participants
  • Assess the development potential of the existing network
  • Make recommendations based on the assessment and platform
  • Suggest a Community Canvas project

Workload:

  • Develop an assessment methodology,
  • Analyze the current state of the situation
  • Prepare an assessment report with recommendations
  • Develop a Community Canvas (which includes an overall development strategy and recommendations for an action plan)

Expected products:

  • Baseline report
  • Initial data (questionnaires, audio recordings, Excel / SPSS files, graphs)
  • Community canvas

Primary requirements:

  • Experience in developing online communities
  • Knowledge of the specifics of social projects
  • Knowledge of the specifics of social research
  • Understanding and knowledge of the characteristics of the region (or willingness to learn)
  • Understanding what a community canvas is and the ability to develop
  • Good Russian or English, ability to write a report

IWPR support

  • Access to community chat, facilitate the assessment process
  • Organizational support

Timing:

  • Toolkit development – 10 days.
  • Data analysis and processing – 20 days.
  • Reporting and delivery – 7-10 days.
  • The start of the contract is November 8, 2021
