The level of interaction between the media and human rights organizations in Kyrgyzstan

Basic examination. To determine the starting situation in the implementation of the IWPR project “Forming the practice of journalistic investigations to promote democratic reforms: establishing cooperation between representatives of human rights organizations, state institutions and the media” from February to April 2015, the Representative Office of the Institute for War and Peace Reporting in Kyrgyzstan conducted a survey among representatives of funds media and human rights defenders. The purpose of the survey was to determine the level of partnership between the media and human rights organizations in solving problems related to the protection of human rights, to what extent human rights organizations use the media as a tool to expand their audience and increase the impact of their message. In addition, the survey attempted to determine the possibility of cooperation between the media and human rights organizations in conducting journalistic investigations.
